snow!

it snowed yesterday! lisa and i were eating sushi at youme town when i looked out the window and realized it was snowing! it wasn't snowing hard... it was the kind of snow that just floats around. was kind of pretty. we had to ride our bikes home in it too and the snowflakes kept getting stuck to my eyelashes and landing on my face, where they would melt... samui! but it stopped snowing after a little while so there wasn't any on the ground to play with or anything. that's the first time i really saw snow falling. it was cool! i'm starting to think that if it's going to get this cold anyway, it might as well snow so that i can play in it and/or school might get cancelled for a snow day :) it really sucks that i can see my breath IN my apartment though. isn't there something wrong with that? that's including the bathroom! what's wrong with japan?! i guess we're just spoiled in america with our central heating.
on a good note, today is a holiday... it is "coming of age day", which is 20 in japan. not sure what that means, but we saw lots of girls dressed in kimonos yesterday, and the boys were dressed in suits. this was at the mall. they probably have dinner or something later. the girls looked really pretty with their hair all done up, and they had these white fur wraps around their necks too, which actually looked really neat, especially since it was snowing.
so... today is just relax/clean house day. my suitcase threw up all over my room so there is clothes and stuff from my trip back home everywhere (including cans of spam, corned beef, and brownie mix!) hehe... i might have to do laundry i think, but i don't see how things will dry outside in this temperature. it's like trying to dry something in your refrigerator! actually, yesterday, the temperature was colder than a fridge. i should just put all my food outside and save some electricity. =)

Hey Kristen,
Wow you're finally back. Hawaii must have been nice huh? I heard its been raining a lot but I'm pretty sure it ain't raining inside Zippy's. Sounds like you had fun at home. I'm starting to wish that I went home for the winter break.
Its so cold here in Kyoto too. On New Year's Eve it was mad snowing. We got literally drenched. Anyway hope to see you guys soon and eat some of that corned beef for me.
