dedication or craziness?

final exams started today. this morning i went to help kyoko-sensei change the water in the medaka (killifish) bowl and when we got back to the staffroom, there was this high school boy standing outside and his arm was in a makeshift sling, and his shirt by his shoulder was torn and there were all these blood spots. and i said what happened?! and kyoko-sensei said that he got hit by a car while riding his bike this morning. and then the student says that he wants to take the exams today because he studied really hard last week! i was just thinking, boy, you should go home! well i would if i got hit by a car.
