long time no update

this is terrible.. is this how it's gonna be from now on? me updating every once a month? it's sad to say but i think it's because there's nothing overwhelmingly exciting to report. well.. that's not really what i mean-- don't get me wrong, i believe that life is in essense exciting, but life here is more the small-joys-in-your-day/good-feeling-of-being-here/little-happy-moments that fill the time, rather than the jaw-dropping-outlandish/new-exciting-never-before-experienced-things/what-are-they-thinking-type reports that have dominated my posts for the past year, of course being because of living in a different, interesting (albeit weird) country and having all these new experiences coming at me.

so life is a new kind of exciting.. which is weird because it is also like returning back to my "old life".. living at home, driving on the right side of the road, etc.

so what do i have to report? well, my job at the coast guard has ended. too bad it was temporary. i really liked the people there. so i am officially unemployed.. and looking of course. i have been unemployed for a week and half now and it is great! i mean the being lazy part, not the being broke part, of course. nah, actually it's not that great. despite loving vacations and weekends, it really is more fulfilling to have put in good work for the day, and actually accomplish something or help someone. i'm not sure what i want to do yet though, which is part of my problem. ok, too much thinking about it right now. i'll move on for the moment.

oh yes, hehe.. my family just came back from kyoto. they really had a good time. now why couldn't they come to visit me when i was there? *sigh* yes, salty, salty, salty. i think my mom asked if i wanted to go with them, but i guess i said no (i don't remember this), but if i did say no, i think it was because they asked me soon after i just got back from japan, with international flights, and packing, and such still fresh in my head, so the idea of going right back was not really that appealing, although of course i love japan. oh yeah, plus i *thought* i'd be working (haha) so it makes sense that i probably said no..but after they got back, i found myself wishing that i did go. i was thinking, why didn't i want to go? i really should've gone. i could maybe even saw chris and krystal! that would've been cool.

anyhow, that's what's been happening. this saturday going with sam and some friends to the UH football game. we're playing.. umm.. wait don't tell me, new mexico state, right? i want to see wallace&grommit. when will we see that? matt's got me intrigued with his reports of some floating rabbits or something? hmm...

thanks again for coming here, even though i seldom update anymore. i'll try to be better! really!
