well now that summer is nearing, all the bugs decided to wake up. ugh.
the biology teacher who sits across of me walks in carrying a centipede in a pair of tongs and looking really happy. then she put it in a jar half filled with alcohol (which already had 1 centipede floating in it). so gross! it was trying to climb up the sides.. gross... i just checked and it's dead now. it's kind of red and the legs are yellow. so now there's 2 jars of centipedes on her desk. maybe about 5 centipedes total? i think she's collecting them because i heard she shows them to the students every year. they look at them under microscopes to see the fibers in the leg muscles. ewwwwww.....

the high school first graders have all went to yufuin for a trip so no classes till thursday! the weather is great now.. a little cooler than hawaii. it's so comfortable. i really appreciate comfortable weather now. better enjoy it before the rainy season comes. then what will we do?

centipede update: i was looking at the centipedes in the jar and then the biology teacher said, oh should i open it and show you? uhh.. ok.. so she opens the jar and takes them out one by one with these big tweezers and she's looking and saying, "where are the eyes?.." and she's looking at it and then she says, "ah! there's the eyes! they're so cute!" and the other senseis around say "what is she talking about centipedes being cute?" and then she said the eyes are cute and that living things are beautiful aren't they? oh, and i found out that the liquid they are floating in isn't alcohol.. or i mean, it is but it's shochu, which is like japanese vodka, haha.
