rainy sunday

sunday! it rained today. lisa and i were just about to bike it to you me town when it started coming down. after a while it let up, but we just ended up going to NAFCO and sunpal instead. NAFCO has everything... including these super gross disgusting beetles. they are like triceratops and maybe 3 or 4 inches long! kids love 'em. they buy little logs with holes in it so they can play and you can breed them and everything. i even hear that the beetles have lineages so you might be lucky and pick up a purebred triceratops for about 3,500 -4,000yen (about $35) . what! yes, i'm not kidding. they also had cute little turtles and a whole bunch of bettas. no other fishes though... just a lot of pet supplies and tanks.after nafco, we went to sunpal, which is a big grocery store. we had no idea what to get when we spotted the first iron chef japanese, rokusaburo michiba, on one of the packages. ok, being foodtv freaks, we've come to the conclusion that we can trust anything with an iron chef's face on it! especially michiba or sakai. so we bought this mix thing and and all you have to do is add eggs. you know what? it was really good!
