okonomiyaki & centipedes
just a regular day at school, and then after, lisa's supervisor took me to NAFCO, which is this everything-store, to buy *drumroll...* a toilet adapter! yes, i am so happy! don't have time to install it now, but it's going to be awesome. then we went to steve's house for dinner. steve is a former JET from hawaii, but anyway, he and his wife made us some okonomiyaki for dinner... it was so good! he said next time we come, they can make us takoyaki. yay takoyaki!!!
when i got home, was on the computer, which is on the floor because that's where the sweet-spot for YAMADA_AIR has moved to recently, and saw a centipede! right on the edge of the tatami against the wall. ok, i have to say that it wasn't that big... maybe the size of a twisty-tie only, but it had HUGE FANGS... (kimo, they were relatively way larger than the ones on that killer seal i'm sure). anyway, the HUGE FANGS were so scary. it was just sitting there but i didn't want to poke it cuz then it might start running around right? so i called lisa and she brought over this spray. only we can't read anything on it! but it has a picture of a centipede on it, so she sprays it and it doesn't move. i got a disposable hashi and she picked it up. must have been already-dead cuz lisa said it was "crispy". well, better safe than sorry! if you tell japanese people that you found a centipede, they will tell you that you should either burn it over your gas stove, or boil it and then bury it. i'm not sure how they think you'll catch it cuz they say not to smash it. otherwise, the mother and father and sister and brother centipedes will come in your house too because they want to eat it. ugh. well, hopefully i don't get any more anytime soon!
