another typhoon day

well we had another typhoon today-- typhoon "#18" so i didn't go to work. typhoons are the same as hurricanes, but typhoons are given numbers instead of names. this is the 3rd typhoon since i got here a month ago. it was a little scary-- i have a closet outside on my balcony and the wind ripped the door off it's hinges. the wind also was shaking the building a little and the windows were bending in so i had to tape them up. i was trying to watch the news but all i could understand was "moretsu" = violent, as in conditions. everything's ok though. it's still windy outside but it's calmed down a lot. i think the worst is past. tomorrow there'll be a lot of mess to clean up though!
